Završen prvi Horizon Europe projekat – BETTER Life i osnovan Srpski Digitalni Centar Izvrsnosti!

Dragi prijatelji, saradnici i članovi akademske zajednice,

Sa velikim ponosom objavljujemo uspešan završetak našeg prvog Horizon Europe projekta – BETTER Life (Bringing Excellence to Transformative Engaged Research in Life Sciences through Integrated Digital Centres), koji je trajao od septembra 2022. do avgusta 2025.

 Kao deo projekta, naš univerzitet je osnovao Srpski Digitalni Centar (serbia.better-life-digital.eu) i imao ključnu ulogu u razvoju jednog od najznačajnijih rezultata projekta – alata za samoprocenu društveno angažovanog istraživanja (Self-Assessment Tool).

Šta smo postigli:

 Razvili Self-Assessment Tool – digitalni alat koji pomaže istraživačima i institucijama da procene i unaprede nivo društvene angažovanosti svojih istraživanja.
 Osnovali Srpski Digitalni Centar, deo evropske mreže regionalnih centara za SER.
 Doprineli razvoju okvira, standarda i alata (toolkits) za društveno angažovano istraživanje.
 Organizovali programe za jačanje kapaciteta istraživača – bootcamp-ove, letnje i zimske škole, radionice i mentorske aktivnosti.
 Aktivno učestvovali u radu evropskog konzorcijuma od 9 partnera iz 8 zemalja, promovišući saradnju kroz Quadruple Helix model (akademija – privreda – vlast – društvo).

Zašto je ovo važno:

Naš univerzitet je kroz BETTER Life projekat pokazao da može da bude jedan od regionalnih lidera u inovacijama i razvoju istraživanja sa društvenim uticajem.
Alat za samoprocenu koji smo razvili predstavlja dugoročni resurs za istraživače i institucije širom Evrope, dok Srpski Digitalni Centar nastavlja da živi kao platforma za obuke, umrežavanje i podršku.

Pogled u budućnost:

• Dalje unapređenje digitalnih alata i resursa za SER.
• Jačanje zajednice mladih istraživača u Srbiji i regionu.
• Korišćenje rezultata projekta za rešavanje stvarnih društvenih izazova i kreiranje pozitivnog uticaja.

Our University Successfully Completed Its First Horizon Europe Project – BETTER Life and Founded the Serbian Digital Centre!

Dear colleagues, partners, and friends,

We are proud to announce the successful completion of our first Horizon Europe project – BETTER Life (Bringing Excellence to Transformative Engaged Research in Life Sciences through Integrated Digital Centres), which ran from September 2022 to August 2025.

 As part of this project, our university founded the Serbian Digital Centre (serbia.better-life-digital.eu) and played a key role in developing one of its most important results – the Self-Assessment Tool for Socially Engaged Research (Self-Assessment Tool).

Our Achievements:

 Developed the Self-Assessment Tool – a digital resource enabling researchers and institutions to evaluate and strengthen the societal engagement of their research.
 Founded the Serbian Digital Centre, part of the European network of regional centres for socially engaged research (SER).
 Contributed to the development of the framework, standards, and toolkits for SER.
 Organized capacity-building activities – including bootcamps, summer and winter schools, workshops, and mentoring programs.
 Actively participated in a pan-European consortium of 9 partners from 8 countries, fostering collaboration under the Quadruple Helix model (academia – industry – government – society).

Why This Matters:

Through the BETTER Life project, our university has demonstrated its ability to act as a regional leader in innovation and in the development of research with a strong societal impact.
The Self-Assessment Tool we developed will serve as a long-term resource for researchers and institutions across Europe, while the Serbian Digital Centre will continue to function as a hub for training, networking, and support.

Looking Ahead:

• Further development of digital tools and resources for SER.
• Strengthening the community of early career researchers in Serbia and beyond.
• Applying project results to tackle real-world societal challenges and create a lasting positive impact.
