Beaming Community of Practice – Round Table: “Bioeconomy – Current State and Challenges”

As part of the BEAMING project, a round table of the Beaming Community of Practice titled “Bioeconomy – Current State and Challenges” was held on November 21, 2025, at the TTH Office at Educons University. The event brought together representatives from academia, industry, public institutions, civil society organizations, and bioeconomy experts with the aim of exchanging experiences, identifying obstacles, and developing joint initiatives.

In addition to the hosts from Educons University – Jelena Ješić, Jovana Kisin, Suzana Kojić, and Simonida Vukadinović – opening remarks were delivered by Mary Tsinou from BioEast Hub and Tamara Popović Kovačević from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad. The discussion featured active contributions from members of EDU COPs Biogas – Ljidija Zelić, representatives of the Regional Waste Management Center Novi Sad – Svetozar Lekić and Kosta Mijić, Srđan Miljanić from Agro Plus Energy, and representatives of JP Vojvodinašume – Marko Marinković and Bonan Tubić.

One of the key conclusions of the event, which will also be put forward as a recommendation to colleagues at the National Center for Bioeconomy, is the need for stronger collaboration and improved connectivity among all stakeholders in the bioeconomy sector and research institutions.

After the formal program, participants continued with informal networking.
