Strengthening cooperation within the BEAMING project: Educons University hosted young researchers from the Agricultural University in Plovdiv
From November 18 to 20, 2025, Educons University hosted two young researchers from the Agricultural University of Plovdiv (AUP), Bulgaria—Haik Garabedian, Ph.D., and Atanas Kalajdzev, Ph.D.—as part of the Horizon Europe BEAMING project. The visit was organized as part of the second round of short-term mobilities aimed at strengthening capacities for valorizing knowledge and developing cooperation between partner institutions.
During the three-day program, the guests had the opportunity to get to know in detail the research and innovation infrastructure of Educons University. The agenda included the presentation of the university’s research ecosystem, a tour of the Technology Transfer Hub, the Center for Circular Economy, the BioTech Laboratory and the University Library, as well as a meeting with the academic staff of the Faculty of Ecological Agriculture. These meetings allowed visiting researchers to see Educons’ approach to innovation management, connecting with the economy and incorporating research into regional development.
The central part of the visit was knowledge exchange activities, including presentations by both institutions on research priorities, technology transfer practices and models of integrating the principles of knowledge valorization into academic work. The round table of young researchers provided space for an open discussion on common challenges, opportunities for collaboration and research design that has social and economic impact.
The final day was dedicated to planning future activities and networking. During the meeting with the Project Incubator Hub team, ideas for joint projects were discussed, as well as opportunities for exchange of students and teaching staff. The visit ended with an evaluation session in the University Library.
The result of the mobility is a significant deepening of cooperation between Educons University and AUP, with identified potentials for joint project applications, co-authored scientific papers and further exchange programs. This successful visit confirms Educons University’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and developing research with a strong social impact through the BEAMING project.
