PVarrayconstruction – Constructionofnewphotovoltaic(PV)systemsorexpansionofexisting systems at the sports facility (roof of the sports facility, other roofs of adjacent buildings, roofing of footpaths, etc.).

ConstructionofnewPVsystemsonadjacentbuildings intheimmediate vicinity of the sports facility.

OwnconsumptionofPVelectricityincombinationwithbatterystorage (also for existing installations).

PVsystemsonparkinglots – Rededicationofparkingareasofthesportsfacilityfortheconstruction of new PV systems (an elevation of the PV panels above the parking areas should also be considered).
Renewablehotwaterproduction  – Constructionofsolarthermalsystemsforhotwatersupplyofsports facilities on building roofs of the sports facilities area.
Nodieselgenerators – Powersupplyasfaraspossibleviatheelectricitygrid–wherever connection possibilities exist – instead of diesel generators; at sports venues, fan zones and media centres
Dieselgeneratorreplacement  – Large batteries (preferably second-life batteries from electric vehicles) replace diesel generators (sports venues, fan zones, media centres). Possible applications are for back-up/uninterruptiblepower supply, provision of required capacity and own consumption of self-generated renewable electricity (PV systems). The batteries canreplacetemporarydieselgeneratorsduringtheeventandexisting permanent diesel generators at the sports venues (e.g. also for peak load management). The batteries can be charged before the dayoftheevent/overnightwithgridelectricityand/orrenewableenergy from PV systems and release the stored electricity on the day of the event.
Certifiedrenewableelectricity – Certified“renewable“electricity(fromrenewablesources)should be usedin all areas (sports facilities, media centres, etc.).
Adopting new technologies and generating own energy –  The cost of this sustainable energy initiative may take years to recoup since the energy need is very large, but renewable energy and energy independence could provide benefits both environmentally and financially.
