Beaming CoPs invitation on Open Session – From Waste to Energy: Biogas and Biomethane for the Environment and Community

Representatives of the Educons University team from the Center for Circular Economy – Prof. Dr. Simonida Vukadinović, Prof. Dr. Jelena Ješić, and Stefan Ilijin, a student of the Faculty of Business Economics – actively participated in the event organized by the Biogas Association. They presented the work carried out within the Beaming and CCEUE projects, as well as other project activities of Educons University.
During and after the event, networking with key stakeholders (representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, industry, and civil society organizations) at the regional level provided additional value to this important meeting for future actions in the field of bioeconomy and circular economy.

The event “Open Session: From Waste to Energy – Biogas and Biomethane for the Environment and Community” is part of a broader European initiative connecting local communities, universities, businesses, and investors to promote the circular economy and sustainable resource use.
The concept was of an open type – not a classic conference – but rather a round table, discussion, and exchange of experiences between operators, experts, and interested community participants.
Therefore, the participation of students was both interesting and desirable, as it allowed them to learn from practical examples in energy, agriculture, and environmental protection.
Next year, students will also have the opportunity to participate in a competition for innovative ideas on ecology and climate, organized by Educons University’s Romanian partners within the Climate Change Summit Awards.

Prof. Dr. Simonida Vukadinović presented Educons University’s activities and study programs dealing with sustainability, ecological agriculture, and environmental protection, as well as the Communities of Practice (COPs) launched within the Beaming project.
This helped participants gain a better understanding of the academic community’s contribution to this sector.
Such occasions are also an excellent opportunity for students to get acquainted with the economy and the renewable energy sector, establish connections, and understand where they can find their place in the future as part of the profession.
